MEET & GREET OUR ALPACAS
45 minutes
This experience is perfect for families with small children and gives you and your family a great way to get up close and personal with these adorable animals in their natural environment. After a short health and safety talk, you'll take a leisurely stroll around their paddocks with one of our tour guides where you'll learn lots of interesting facts about these beautiful creatures and enjoy lots of photo opportunities.
There's a possibility you may also get the chance to meet this year's baby alpacas (known as cria), depending on the timing of your visit. We're expecting 5 cria this summer from approximately the end of June to the beginning of August.
Meeting baby alpacas is an adorable and unforgettable experience - we may be biased but we think they are some of the cutest creatures on the planet!
These curious and playful babies love to explore their surroundings and will often bond with other crias or adult alpacas. They're born with long eyelashes and soft, fluffy fur that comes in a variety of colours and they will absolutely melt your heart. They are very social creatures and it's amazing to watch them bonding and forming friendships as they're frolick in the fields.
Newborn crias and those a few days old are still wobbly on their feet and absolutely adorable. After a few weeks they are more active and playful and start to show off their own personalities. If you're particularly interested in seeing our crias then please let us know at the time of booking.
0 to 3 years free (each child must be accompanied by a paying adult and must be in a carrier as the paddocks are not suitable for pushchairs)

Here are some tips for making the most of your Meet and Greet experience:
Dress practically and appropriately for the weather and outdoor conditions. The paddocks can get wet and muddy so please ensure you have suitable closed-toe footwear that you don't mind getting dirty - wellies would be the best option.
Be gentle and patient around the alpacas. They may not come to you right away, but they'll eventually warm up to you.
Speak softly and avoid loud noises and sudden movements, they're sensitive creatures and may startle easily.
If you bring children, make sure they understand how to behave around animals.
Don't feed the alpacas anything other than what the tour guide gives you.
